Teacher of the Visually Impaired Placement
Licensed TVIs provide direct instruction, IEP support, braille literacy, assistive technology support, and Expanded Core Curriculum instruction.
Illinois School District Vision Services
House of Light partners with Illinois school districts to place licensed Teachers of the Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility specialists, helping districts provide timely, IEP-compliant support for students who are blind or visually impaired.
The Challenge
Districts are required to provide specialized services to students with visual impairments, yet qualified TVIs and O&M specialists are difficult to find. When services are delayed, students lose critical instructional time and districts face increased compliance pressure.
How We Help
House of Light focuses exclusively on visual impairment education, accessibility, and specialized support. We help districts fill critical service gaps while maintaining student-centered, IEP-aligned support.
Services
Licensed TVIs provide direct instruction, IEP support, braille literacy, assistive technology support, and Expanded Core Curriculum instruction.
O&M specialists help students travel safely and independently in school, community, and daily life environments.
Qualified assessments help determine how students use vision for learning and what services or accommodations should be included.
We convert instructional materials into braille, large print, audio, and accessible formats so students can access the curriculum.
Training can include visual impairment awareness, classroom accessibility, assistive technology, CVI, and inclusive teaching strategies.
